Required Standards

The Plumbing and Heating Industry is extremely diverse and challenging. It has many areas of expertise, from different fuel types to different types of plumbing systems. Unfortunately this has resulted in the creation of a number of standards that must be met in order to allow certification to approved standards.

APHC tries to simplify this by combining Water Regulations and many parts of the Building Regulations into one common sense scheme that will allow you to fill out one form for your customer that ticks all the boxes.

With so many areas covered, APHC has to ensure you are competent in all those areas; however we have adopted a common sense approach, so if you don’t work on solid fuel, or don’t want to undertake electrical works you don’t have to. If you do then that’s great as well; one low fee covers all the bases. In the following pages are the clear standards you must attain and maintain to ensure you can prove competence.

You may be thinking the rogue trader does not have to do this… well, you're right! However, the rogue trader can’t certificate your customers’ works and he or she also jeopardises the customers’ house price. Tell all of your customers exactly why certification is so vital to them.
