Information For Plumbers
In 1991, Building Regulations were introduced that meant areas of plumbing and heating works were reportable to Local Authority Building Control Departments. It is fair to say that since this date, notification has had little or no impact.
With the inception of the Home Information Pack (HIP) and the legal framework of conveyancing solicitors undertaking searches prior to the exchange of property sale contracts, the need to notify or certificate through a Competent Persons Scheme has become essential.
As of 1st June 2007, notification or certification will be essential to ensure your customer can sell his or her property, trouble-free and at no loss to the value of the property.
For over 100 years, APHC has been committed to providing plumbing and heating engineers the right tools at the right price to do the job. As part of this commitment, we offer a Competent Persons Scheme that provides you with a simple, true one stop shop to certificate your customers’ works.
Approximately 90% of works undertaken in the domestic home by a plumbing or heating engineer require notification to building control or certification through a Competent Persons Scheme.
